Income Generating Tips Through E-books

By Son Daughtridge

If you want to make some extra money, you should consider going into e-book publishing. This particular field is becoming pretty lucrative pretty fast; people are serious about it have even been able to quit their day jobs and make all their money online. It is relatively simple and people from all walks of life have the opportunity to supplement their income by opening their own e-book publishing company.

Here are a couple of quick tips that, if you follow them, might make you rich.

1. Find out what's popular and sell that. In the e-book publishing business, success can be found by finding out what people are interested in buying and offering that.

You'd be surprised how many people don't do this. They sell what they want to sell, not what their buyers want to buy.

2. A liberal refund policy will attract tons more customers than a no-refund policy. You may think this is a recipe for bankruptcy, but I assure you it is not. As new as the concept of e-books far, most people are as secure in buying one as they are in buying a regular hardcover or paperback.

You can give people peace of mind by ensuring them that they can get all their money back if they don't like your product. Nobody wants to jump through a bunch of kooks to get a refund, and if people are guaranteed a no hassle refund policy, they're much more likely to buy your book.

A few people, out of the many who will hopefully buy your product, will have malicious intentions when asking for a refund. It is the sacrifice you make for all the customers you otherwise would not have had if you had chosen not to offer refunds.

If you hope to be a successful e-book publisher, these tips will greatly help you on your way. Feed the popular demand and let people know that they can get their money back if they want it. Now go sell some e-books.

The Topics That Will Make You The Most Money When Writing Articles

By Paul Hamm

For newbie in article writing for money, you will want to know what you should write about. A newbie will ask "what are the best topics to write about"? There are no clear cut answer but depending on several factors.

First, you will want to ask yourself what you consider to be "the best." Do you want to make the most money or do you want to write articles that are easy and quick for you to compose? Next, who are you writing for? Are you writing articles for a client or for your own personal use? The answers to these questions can help you determine what topics are the best for you to write about.

Definitely the best topics are those topics that are about things you are interest in. For example, do you always look for ways to reduce financial waste and have ideas to share with others? If one writes on topics that one as interest on, it seems more like having fun than working. Nothing seem better than been paid for any activity you enjoy doing.

On that same note, it is important to know that not all articles generate money or the same amount. If you have the freedom to choose your own article topics or points, write on a topic that is popular or in demand. For this, you will want to examine the seasons and the popular products for sale. Is there a new video game that is highly anticipated? Why not capitalize on that anticipation and write articles that focus on gaming? You will also want to examine the seasons. Is Thanksgiving and Christmas quickly approaching? Why not write a few articles that share holiday shopping tips?

As stated before writing about subjects that you know are the best. For example if you are an expert or computer freak, software guru or programmer, you are better suited as technical writer. Technical topics are the best paying topics for web content writing markets. Website owner that need technical content tend to pay more for high quality content.

When you decide to write for paying clients, keeping your option open is number one. Either you visit an online bidding website or an online job board; you will discover that a lot of jobs are available on a verity of topics. Since you are writing for money you must not limit yourselves to a theme or niche. By sticking to only a limited number of niches and not expanding your horizon, you limit the amount of money to be made.

Writing for your personal use on your site or blog, it is always good to focus only on one set topic. This enhances your chance of making money because you can choose adverts that are in line with your site's main theme. For example, a website that focuses on pet care is likely to make more money than a website that focus on thirty different topics. Focusing and perfecting on a single topic before trying to move to another topic, try creating a website or blog for each topic.

Lastly, if you are paid to write for other, you will have to write on the topic that you are provided with. If you have the freedom to write your own articles, consider what issues that is popular or controversial at the time.

Creating a Conversion Friendly Website - What You Need to Know

By Nicole Cooper

Whether you are an Internet marketer or a website master, if you are looking for ways to increase your website conversion rate, this is the right article for you. To help you get to the next level in improving the conversion rates for your site, we'll be covering three effective points.

The Call to Action Should be Repeated Several Times: It's not always enough to only have your call to action at the conclusion of your offer or page. You should try to insert the call to action in various effective forms across your website in prominent places so that you're constantly reminding your prospects to take action. The call to action should also be very clear and specific, as you should never assume that something is self evident to the reader. Putting in more calls to action is an easy way to boost your site's conversion rate.

Easy to grasp sales messages and understanding of the ideas you are conveying should be what your prospects find when they start to read your content. To get them to convert, your prospects need to feel convinced, not confused, so making your content better than others in terms of readability is essential. Some websites created by Internet marketers and webmasters are full on unnecessary terms and complicated jargon and that creates content that is hard to understand. While you might think this makes you look sophisticated, it fails to help you get conversions which is your main goal. When you are explaining something to your prospect, use simple language because not everyone is the same and you need to look at things from a layman's perspective. When you do have to use a complicated term, follow it with an example or an explanation in simple words.

Don't Hide Your Contact Info: When visitors find your site, they should have a convenient way to contact you if they want. Most people won't actually want to contact you, but it still shows that you're trustworthy by having your information posted. There's nothing more critical than having people trust you when you want them to opt in or buy something. Put information on how to contact you in a place where people can easily find it, such as a sidebar or footer area of your page.

Using the Right Font: Did you know that what kind of text you use, and the color and size of the text can make a real difference in your sites conversions. On your webpages, you should use text that is easy to read and the size that is appropriate for your visitors. Don't use a tiny text that's gray in color on a white background because that'll prove to be a huge turn off for your visitors and make them leave your site without taking any kind of action. If your content is such that your prospects have difficulty reading it, how can you expect them to be convinced to buy from you? Or to even choose to receive your newsletter? Every little thing can make a difference, so make sure that even your fonts are kept simple. You may find your visitors taking the action you desire if you focus on getting them comfortable with your site and making them feel its the right place for them. Add Real Testimonials: Unfortunately there are a lot of websites out there that don't have any problem faking testimonials just to show prospects that their product is worth it. This kind of tactic will backfire, because the average Internet user has changed and is much more educated and aware these days.Because people want to prove if your testimonial is true or not, they will take the time to analyze it. Be sure to use real testimonials from your real customers and if possible add a picture to the testimonial or ask your customers if they would be willing to give you a video testimonial which is more convincing. To get more sales and improve the conversion rate, is really isn't necessary to make major changes to your website or sales process While the tactics discussed above are simple, if you implement them, you will see better conversions coming your direction soon.

Methods To Gain The Best Testimonials for Your Business

By Markus Brown

You need to get to a point where you have social proof as testimonials for your offers because that lets people know they are not the first to go out on a limb. No matter how strong your sales message is, real testimonials from real customers will always help you get better sales. You can be proactive when it comes to gathering testimonials for anything you are marketing, and we will step you through a few processes.

With the right positioning, a well-thought and constructed case study can really get people's attention. As you can easily imagine, any time you do a study on anything it implies work and good details to show your point. In this situation, though, we want you to approach your customers because you want to document their experiences with your product. So no matter what people write about, just remember that it is all good. If you look around, you'll see many major corporations publishing case studies from their customers, which they know will help them convince their prospects better and get more sales. As we always say to people, just give it a shot and see what your customers will do with it.

As you know, it is not encouraged to directly and openly request testimonials from customers. It is a smart idea to engage your audience as much as possible, and asking them to provide you with their thoughts about the product or buying experience is nothing but feedback to you. Take a look at your Contact page, do you have anything that actively encourages people to send you feedback? You don't even have to make it too elaborate, but just putting a simple message on your 'Contact Us' page can bring in new feedback that you didn't expect.

There's no use confining your positive testimonials to an exclusive 'Testimonials' page; while there is nothing wrong in having a dedicated testimonials page, it's important that you spread your testimonials across the pages of your website. If you have a large site, then the more testimonials you have obviously you can spread the around more.

Be sure to take action on anything that is appropriate for you at your current stage of progress, and never give up with working on getting more testimonials.

Strategies On How To Spend Less with Libraries

By Alexandra Shepherd

Reading is like breathing to many of us. Books offer us so much that television does not. But, in this economy, books are expensive and saving money is of high importance. So, lets go over some of the ways on how to save money with the library.

Checking out books from the library is the most obvious way of exercising frugality when it comes to satiating that book addiction. Checking out a favorite book or three costs nothing and you still get to read the material. If you do buy books, you only buy the ones you absolutely cannot live without owning. Any books you do not really need, but still like, are held by the library for you, indefinitely. Nicely enough, there is the added perk of never having to store all the books you want.

The same is true for rare or out-of-print books. Often times with these books, however, they are out of our price range all together because of their scarcity. The library has a bigger budget then most people individually. Thus, they can purchase what many of us cannot. Further, what they do purchase will always be available to you.

Upkeep is an issue for old books, especially ancient ones. Even if one had the buying power to obtain one of these treasured antiques, the maintenance can be costly and difficult. Libraries are in link with services to that provide upkeep so no one else has to.

Sometimes, we are only interested in having part of a book. Which can drive us to buying it. This is a regular occurrence for students. Textbooks can be very expensive. For this issue, many libraries keep photocopiers available for patron use. If such machines are not available, borrowed books can be taken to a printer elsewhere. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars, photocopies of needed sections can be obtained for drastically less. Although, copyright laws need to be obeyed, generally, copies of small sections can be made for individual use.

Some major libraries now have stores where one can buy their used books. After a long life in library circulation, these used books are offered for permanent purchase at excitingly discounted rates. Occasionally, one can uncover some really great finds in these stores.

Whatever subjects you are interested in, the library will have tomes on them and then some. Anything you could want is available to you without the need to purchase anything. Your back account will thank you.

How To Capture The Trust of Your Blog Readers

By Tony Sanches

Creating a trustworthy relationship with your blog readers is something that every blogger wants to do, but not many seem to know how to accomplish this task. You will find that acquiring the confidence of your market dictates certain behaviors, activities and will take time.

It is interesting that so many things we do on our sites can be related to trust, and just one example is poor site navigation. You need to make it easy for your visitors to navigate through your blog, and also ensure the search function is working well. Issues like this that should not happen harken back to more basic things like your good judgment about things like business matters, etc. If your links are not very relevant, or in other words the site theme and content organization is haphazard, then that can also cause problems for you.

Your blog readers may like or dislike your content, they may agree or disagree with you and they may leave or stay on your blog - whatever the case is, they have a right to contact you. Visitors will check to see if you have a contact page, and then it should have a valid email address that it sends to, as well. Most if not all people will not have unreasonable expectations from you in the way of communicating, so this really is a very easy matter to handle. A reader may contact you for any reason, as long as you're making it easy to get in touch with you via your blog you'll be constantly building a trustworthy relationship with your readers on an ongoing basis.

Remember that you have to pay attention to details as the little things often will produce much bigger effects. We have not really said much about content even though it is the cornerstone of your blog; so just make it high quality and valuable. In short, pretty much all that you need to perform that is related to your blog has to be professional and positive. You have to try and win the trust of your readers at each and every step, so that there is nothing lacking.

If you want to achieve a long term readership from your visitors and keep them coming back to your blog then it's important that you focus on increasing the trust level of your visitors in every possible way.

Brand Marketing with The Goal of Expert Standing in Business

By Chris Porter

There are real and perceived experts all over the web, but eventually the difference can become apparent depending on the situation. People like doing business with those whom they like; so bear in mind that being a real expert does not automatically mean everything is "in the bag." But the question that comes up is, how do you really go about establishing yourself as an expert, especially when you're just starting out? To that end, we have assembled some excellent information that will give you some solid suggestions and stir the creative juices.

A huge part of your long-term goal is to influence your market with your content, and think about something like offering teleclasses because they are different. These class formats are informal in structure, and you can showcase your knowledge about your niche market. The classes can be presented to the participants in one session or over a series of such sessions. This method is terrific for helping to build your reputation as an expert because you will be teaching and interacting with people. When you think about it these are all good, and the main thing is both parties derive great benefits which is what it is all about. If you want to really make it good, you can prepare a PDF and provide that to everybody before the classes.

Who would have ever thought the internet would exist and become so central to normal life for most of the planet. Just one good example is if you wanted to write and publish a book on your own; or you can easily contact services that will do it for you. One fast track path to expert status is to publish your own book in your area of interest. Having a good book under your belt will be a real boost to your efforts in this area we are talking about.

Earning Recognition as an Expert was Never Easy

By Steaven Owens

Becoming an expert in a given niche is an important step that you may take towards getting respect and recognition from your target audience. We know how challenging it can be to convince a large part of any niche that you have some expert background; keep reading to see how to address this issue.

How your audience perceives you is extremely important, and so you need to work on creating positive impressions. If you really want to ramp this up, then let's talk about conducting seminars in your area. If you create the right impression and strong enough, then you can start a real buzz about you online. If you make a strong enough impression on those who attend, then delaying any promotional activities may pay off on the backend. The last thing you want is give the impression you are not organized, so put everything on paper for this and create a specific plan of action.

Related to other methods is the teleseminar format which is still used by a lot of businesses. So you have the phone, and the way it works is everybody who signs-up for it just calls that phone number, and then you just talk to them about your topic. Always make something like a teleseminar totally free, and what you want to do is over-deliver in a big way. If you do enough of them and they go well, then your trust factor and expert score will rise.If this appeals to you, then maybe create an outline of topics and think about creating a series.

If you've planned to create podcasts to deliver content to your target audience then why not do the same with webcasts? We have seen webcasts, and they can be nicely done but do require a bit more effort to put together in a high quality manner. If you do this, then at least your niche audience will realize that you are working and making the effort to provide solid content with variety of presentation.

Nothing is so terribly hard when you break it down into manageable chunks, and you can do that with this, too. You have to be patient, and if you are not that type then start working on it today. Your responsibilities will increase once you achieve your goal, but so much else becomes less difficult.

Choosing A Good Subject For An Ebook

By Owen Jones

There can be many factors why you would want to publish an ebook, but the two most usual are to promote something and to publish a novel. This piece will concentrate on how to use an ebook for marketing, because even the author of ebook novels has to advertise them because they do not have a publisher.

If you are considering using Internet marketing techniques, three of the best are all related. You may write an piece for a newsletter or blog (perhaps as a guest writer); you could compose pieces on topics related to what you want to promote and hope that owners of newsletters and blogs copy your piece into their publication or you could compose an ebook on the topic.

Whichever course of action you choose, you will be hoping that the reader of your piece, clicks through to your web site and buys what you are advertising. They will be able to do this, because you have left a hyperlink to your web site at the end of your article or book.

Which of these ways is the best might depend on your abilities as a author, on your abilities as a promoter or on the technique that best suits the item that you are trying to promote. Time can also be a factor. It will obviously take longer to write a book than an article.

So, is there anything to be gained from writing an ebook instead of an article? That depends on quality and your capacity to send the article or book viral.

What does viral mean? it simply means that the writing is so good, practical or funny that people will want to pass it on to their friends.

You can see why this is known as viral advertising: your twenty friends forward the article to their twenty friends et cetera, et cetera. It could be read by millions in a week. If it is decent enough. An article of less quality may be read by thousands over the same period in low-circulation newsletters.

So, let us aim for the top. How do you decide on a issue for an ebook? Well, does it have to relate to something that you are already selling or planning to sell? Is the ebook itself the item or is it a marketing tool? In viral advertising, the ebook ought to really be a free pointer to your website.

So, in order to find a subject, look in places like Yahoo Answers. See what surfers are having issues with. Mosquitoes in the summer; gifts for the loved one at Christmas and St. Valentine's Day, etc. etc.. Then open Google's search page (open an account if you do not have one) and switch on predictive text.

Now enter the phrases that you lifted from Yahoo Answers slowly and see what comes up. These are the most sought on search phrases for that subject to have been used recently. Note a few of them down and enter them back into Google or whichever search engine you like.

How many other websites are using that key phrase? 500 million? Well, at least you know that people are interested in it, but there is loads of competition. Find a key phrase that you are happy with, compose your ebook using that title and then you 'merely' have to promote it, but at least you know that the public would like it and you know the strength of competition.

Do The Right Things To Win The Lasting Trust of Your Market

By Owen Ellis

We suspect you know all too well that building enough trust in the minds of your site traffic so they readily do business with you takes real patience and know-how. Winning the trust a of a large group of people, who are your market, is not always the easiest task in the world - but we will get you off to a terrific start.

The kind of design your website carries plays a major role with keeping visitors, helping you build a trusting relationship with them and ultimately getting you more sales. It's really important that you do not ignore professionalism on your website because people tend to be very cautious about the sites they deal with. Everything makes an impression with people, and this is really what we are getting at because it will have an impact. So, this issue about design is really not hard to avoid or even fix, and it just needs to be clean and appropriate for your market. However, after having said all of that, the simple blog can eliminate all the troubles if you choose an appropriate theme.

Take your navigation set-up extremely seriously because it can be a killer if it has issues. If you want your visitors to feel happy about visiting your site, the first thing that you need to do is make it easy for them to move around. You do need to be careful because if you keep the site and grow it, then you do not want to have issues later on when it is more difficult to deal with due to the size. Humans are funny creatures because the best affect is to not cause visitors to consciously think about your navigation, or other things on your site. Naturally, all of this involves links, so make sure you do not have any broken links. Obviously, your visitors can quickly choose a competitor who does have everything in good order.

What you want to do with your site content is make it so engaging that everybody spends healthy amounts of time there. Keep it fresh and happening, because stale content doesn't look good on any website. We recommend making a list of topics that you can write about, and go beyond and do some research at your local library, etc. Content can serve many purposes, and just one that you should pay attention to is what it can for branding you as an expert. You can hurt your brand or help it using content, so be sure you approach this with good business sense.

Creating a sense of trust in your business site takes time and hard work, and that is why so many have a hard time with it, maybe. Never feel like there is nothing you can do about a situation because 99% of the time that is false.

The Approach You Should Use to Get Effective Testimonials

By Paul Phillips

You can accomplish a lot with excellent social proof in the form of testimonials, but what is most important to people is they increase sales and profits. There are two important things to think about, what can you do to encourage people to offer a testimonial plus presenting them in the best way. What you are about to learn are several excellent methods to give you good testimonials.

The fact is, case studies are much harder to get than a typical testimonial, which makes them have a higher perceived value. While not every single product will easily lend itself to a case study, you will never know until you take a hard look at it. What you should do is not talk about testimonials, but instead solicit volunteers to help you with your study on what they encountered when using your product or service. So no matter what people write about, just remember that it is all good. Remember that if this approach is good enough for the largest companies on the planet, then it really should be adequate for you, too. So if you have a product or a service that is known to help your customers in a big way, then have a talk with them and see if you could get a few good case studies going.

Lots of people react negatively when they see one business writing in a negative tone about another business. However, if a third party happens to compare your service to your competitors, pointing out your positive aspects, then it will obviously be seen as a valid insight. But if a testimonial goes over the top and slanders another businesses product, then we urge you to be careful about that otherwise you could be in for a hassle.

One thing to bear in mind is the vast majority of customers will never consent to writing a testimonial and certainly not providing their name or picture. So, all right... no huge deal there; contact your customers and see how they feel about telling you their personal stories. You are in business, and a smart person will test everything - so test this approach and see what happens. Good stories that are true should have concrete facts, so that is something to be sure you pass along in your instructions. Their story is just like a testimonial because you have to take what they give you, but you do not have to use it. Keep in mind that you still need to ask for permission to use the story.

You will find that securing any kind of testimonial is a game of percentages because you never know who will agree to let you use something.

SEO Factors You Should Consider

By Jack Morgan

Today's SEO is a different game than in the past when all it took was clever keyword stuffing to make it to the top of search engine listings. If you want to make it to the top of the search engine results today you're going to have to do a lot more - even more if you want to stay at the top. These are just some of the factors you need to keep in mind.

Top of the Line Content: If there is one thing that can be used to your advantage over your competitors then it would have to be the quality of your content. It is imperative that your blog has top notch content. This is because Google and other search engines are taking strict measures to 'demote' any website that is using bad content. Your content not only has to be original, but it also has to relate to your main topic. Do not listen to people when they claim that content does not matter when it comes to SEO, because this is not true. You will see that premium content gets ranked very quickly just because it attracts good backlinks by itself. Your SEO efforts flow smoothly when you have quality content that other bloggers want to link to. So, you have to put a lot of energy in to producing top notch content. If you are considering getting a SEO professional who can create good content for you, then do it even if it is a little bit costly. This is because producing quality is of the utmost importance.

Anchor Text in External Links: When it comes to a search engine optimization campaign that is effective, you should focus the most on building external links because they are extremely important. If you have an adequate amount of incoming links to your site that are quality based, then you will be able to get a better bid than your competition and rank highly with the search engines. However, simply getting direct backlinks is not what you should be aiming for. Instead, you should put your focus into getting backlinks that have your keyword in the anchor text. This is a necessity because your keyword in the anchor text will alert the search engines to what your page should rank for. For example, if your niche keyword is dog training, then be certain that the anchor text for most of your incoming links will contain this important keyword. Also, do not forget to change up your keyword a little so that it does not send a wrong signal to Google and the other search engines.

Don't overlook the importance of social media links and building backlinks from those sites. There is a lot of credibility in the eyes of the search engines that can be gained by getting recommendations and clicks on the "like" button in certain social media circles. This is a growing favorite method among marketers to build new backlinks because the more people who "like" them the more links are built and the more people are introduced to the site who may add even more backlinks.Be very careful however that you don't spam these properties because that will only provide temporary results. If you want results that will last then it's necessary to use ethical methods for building those targeted backlinks and gaining new social media exposure.

Overall, getting top search engine ranking depends on how committed you are and what kind of determination you hold. Getting a high ranking for a highly searched for keyword is not something you can do overnight, but if you keep up your SEO efforts, you'll be rewarded in the future.

Outsource Your Ebook For More Profit

By Owen Jones

Ebooks are compared with ordinary paper books, but in fact they are a lot more adaptable than paper books. For instance, you could compose an ebook to publicize an event say, the opening of a shop, the launch of a new gadget or even the publication of a new book, within a few hours or a day and get it out working for you; whereas if you wished to print flyers, a pamphlet or a brochure, it would take quite some time and money to do the same type of thing.

That is on the advertising front; if you just want to compose a novel and publish it as an ebook, your book can be on sale within a day or two of having finished composing it. In the paper publishing world, it could take six to a dozen months or even years to get a book into the stores.

While there is still more kudos to having a book accepted by a traditional publisher, there is actually more reward per ebook sold than per paper book and Amazon reports a number of authors having sold more than a million copies of their ebook through Amazon. This difference in revenue is surprising. look at the numbers, assuming sales of one million units:

Traditional Publisher: book price: $20; writer's cut: 6%; sales: 1,000,000 = 20 x 0.06 x 1,000,000 = $1,200,000

Amazon eBook: book price: $10; writer's cut: 70%; sales: 1,000,000 = 10 x 0.7 x 1,000,000 = $7,000,000

Notice the divergence in price. It is probable that you will sell more ebooks at $10 than books at $20, so the proceeds are likely to be even higher. It shows that there is a colossal new potential earnings stream for aspiring author/publishers.

However, consider this. If your ebook is a novel set in, say, Thailand, you could insert a travel link for Thailand in the bottom margin of every page and that link would contain your affiliate link, so that you got paid a referral bonus each time someone clicked it or used it to purchase a holiday or flight. The advertisement does not have to get intrusive and certainly not annoying.

What if you had a hundred ebooks out there at $5-10 per ebook and a couple of novels or books of short stories with adverts in them? That could be an income or a retirement fund or just a bonus to what you normally earn.

And what if you wanted to get it begun quickly? You could outsource the writing of the ebook, yet buy the rights to it so that you could put out it under your own name.

If you choose to go down this path, ask the author to also compose a press release of 200-300 words and a sales letter-cum-summary of the book in 500 words to help you sell and promote the publication.

You could compose these things yourself, but there is a huge difference between professional sales copy and what most individuals turn out and it makes all the difference to sales figures.

How to Prosper as an Affiliate Marketer

By Keith Perry

Affiliate marketing is a frustrating business for many, as they struggle to get beyond single digit earnings. If you want to be one of the affiliates who breaks away from the pack and succeeds, you should start applying the following principles.

Move Out of Your Comfort Zone: To stay ahead of the competition and to do things better than the other affiliates you will need to take risks. Willingness to take risks means standing outside of your normal comfort zone! Unless and until you put in the needed effort to push out of your comfort zone, it'll be difficult for you to take any kind of risks since you'll be too scared to venture out in the open. It will take major effort to move outside that comfort zone and take risks, explore new possibilities and horizons, and then the real magic will appear...the leads pouring in and sales taking off. You must comprehend that without some calculated risks, no business can truly succeed. Take a chance of trying out new ideas even if there is a chance that idea could fail. You'll be leaving money on the table if you just work inside your comfort zone, so work towards stepping outside that zone.

Think Like Your Customers: If you want people to buy your affiliate products, you have to learn how to think the way your prospects do. Instead of focusing on the income you're hoping to make, consider what you can do for your audience that is truly helpful. The best way to figure out what type of products or services your audience needs is to put yourself in their place. You have to think about them, not yourself, when you choose your products, set up your pages and create your content. No matter what kind of products you're selling, this is a rule you can never afford to break.

Be Self Disciplined: Regardless of any productivity technique or motivational speech, without self discipline, you won't be able to create your own marketing affiliate success story. If you want the ability to avoid external distractions, get past negative self talk and learn how to say no to unwanted diversions, the it is important to learn how self discipline works and how to apply it to your life.

That gives you something to work with! Keep these ideas in mind as you promote your affiliate products and you'll soon see a real difference. So go ahead and start taking action on what you've learned to see targeted results coming your way.

Essential Steps to Affiliate Marketing Success

By Markus Brown

While people are drawn to affiliate marketing for the chance to make a good income, most never reach this goal. While there are many possible reasons for failure, it usually comes down to not taking the time to master the fundamentals. If you don't prepare properly, it's easy to make a mistake early on that prevents you from achieving the results you want. The points we'll be covering in this article will make it easier for you to start off the right way with your affiliate marketing business.

Affiliate Marketers Must be Patient: You have to be careful about falling for the hype that tells you that it's fast and easy to get wealthy as an affiliate marketer. While this isn't completely wrong, it doesn't apply to someone who is just starting out with affiliate marketing and is learning the ropes. There's a learning curve with affiliate marketing, like with most things, so you have to take the time to learn what you have to do. Affiliates who lack patience often don't stick around long enough to succeed in this business. The reason for this is, it's really easy to lose your cool when you don't see leads coming in, when traffic becomes hard to generate and when you're losing money on your PPC campaign. Perseverance is something that will help you immensely in making your affiliate marketing business a raging success.

Walk in the Shoes of Your Prospects: The point of view you really have to understand if you want to succeed in affiliate marketing is that of your prospects and customers. Don't just think about making sales, but look for ways to solve problems for people. The best way to figure out what type of products or services your audience needs is to put yourself in their place. When you create your sites, offers and content, your objective has to be to address the concerns of your readers and visitors. No matter what kind of products you're selling, this is a rule you can never afford to break.

You Need Multiple Streams of Traffic: You shouldn't limit yourself to only one kind of traffic for your affiliate marketing campaigns. You never know when a particular source of traffic might become unreliable, so it's best to have it coming in from many directions. For example, if you're using article marketing to get targeted traffic to your landing page, then make sure you're also optimizing your articles so that you can get them ranked in the search engines and drive organic traffic as well. The more traffic sources you have, the better results you'll get in the long run.

When it comes to affiliate marketing, all of the details add up to determine how successful you are, so you should be as thorough and conscientious as possible.

How to Get Your Customers to Give You Great Testimonials

By Brigitta Wilson

We all know testimonials are important, especially when you are just starting out, but how to get them can be frustrating. Probably the most efficient strategy is to first get a little bit educated about what just about everybody does in this interesting area. What you are about to read will give you a solid understanding of what steps are involved in this important process.

With the right positioning, a well-thought and constructed case study can really get people's attention. If you do not have any testimonials at all, then we suggest you seriously take a look at this if you can perform one in your market or niche. This will turn into a superbly documented and analyzed history of your customers who are willing to volunteer for the case study. So no matter what people write about, just remember that it is all good. Businesses of all sizes use the case study strategy and method because it is effective as a marketing device. No harm at all in trying it out, or rather testing it because we feel some people will be willing to take you up on it.

Surveys to your customers is the topic of our discussion now because they have many applications. As you prepare the survey questions, consider along the lines of appropriate feedback that you are curious about. Short questions that do not put a strain on people to answer is what you want to go with in your survey. When it comes to providing feedback, you will discover that some people relish the thought while others will ignore the request. If you are careful about your copy, then everyone should view your survey as a chance to help you out so you can make things better for them. You know, there can be a positive if you post a testimonial that includes negative comments.

A testimonial with no photograph at all will greatly reduced the effect you want to create. There are several reasons for this including the fact that graphics catch the eye, but also because they have more credibility. We cannot guarantee that everybody will believe they are real, but usually most do if the rest of your site, or sales copy, is within reason. The way your prospects perceive your testimonial depends on how you present it, so having a picture makes it more presentable and believable.

Testimonials are an interesting area within online marketing, and you have to be smart about how you approach them.

How Can I Overcome Writer's Block?

By Dana Cain

Do you suffer from writer's block? Do you lack the inspiration to even get started on a particular project and therefore kept putting this project off? Don't worry because you are not alone. There will be times that you will go through lengthy dry spells as well as extended periods of energetic writings. Here are some tips you may want to consider to help you keep those slow times to a minimum.

Idea Mining. Start brainstorming to come up with a variety of topics if you do not have a specific topic in mind. To help you get some ideas, why not take a quick walk through the neighborhood? When you are relaxed, you can think much more clearly. It sure beats sitting in front of the computer fretting about your work! Find something that brings out the inspiration in you.

Why You should Get Interested. When you write about a topic that is interesting to you, it is easier than when you have to write about a topic that is either: a) not that interesting to you or b) you have no particular knowledge about. By researching the topic, you can raise your interest. Read other online articles, go to the library, read a chapter or two in a related book, or contact someone familiar with the subject at hand. Helping to fuel your interest in the topic is doing a certain amount of research because your curiosity will be piqued.

Making an Outline. When you write a topic sentence, you should bullet three or four key points that you want to make. Each key point can be expanded into one paragraph. The body of your article will be collectively comprised by these points. Bringing things to a close is a brief conclusion tying all the points together at the end of the article.

You Need to Sit on it. When you have written your article, put it aside and then come back to it after a day or two. A fresh perspective has a way of helping you craft a better article. More than likely you will catch grammatical errors, locate incomplete or unclear thoughts or find errors in punctuation by stepping back for a period of time.

By following the above steps, you can overcome writer's block. If you find yourself hindered by the "paralysis of analysis" when it comes to selecting a winning topic, then you must step away, regroup, and come back only when sufficiently inspired.

Why Your Blog May Not Be Effective with Establishing Trust

By William Mitchell

The biggest challenge for blog owners is figuring out a way to gain the trust of all those who visit. If you have been trying to figure out why you are not experiencing the results you want, then maybe your readers have a trust issue with you - here are a few things you can do.

After all these years, even people who rarely go online know the internet is rife with fraud. If you're taking any such steps then you're obviously risking the credibility of your own blog; before you publish a post double check to ensure that it doesn't even have a hint of suspicious text. Another hot topic with oversight organizations concerns the validity of your claims in your copy; make the genuine without embellishment. Of course that also means you should back-up anything you say with verifiable information. Keep in mind that everything that you do on your blog is noticed by your readers, and that's what will ultimately determine how well they are able to trust you.

Actually, a sound plan consists of short and longer term goals, but do not confuse the short-term to mean fast and easy profits. Early in the life of your blog it will seem a snail's pace because nobody knows you, and perhaps your traffic is only trickling in very slowly. The information you provide has to be accurate, timely and provide the greatest amount of value you can offer. As you grown your online presence and market reputation, then just try not to get complacent about it and start to get an attitude or get sloppy. Even if you have something to sell then skillfully weave it into your post like you're recommending it, because blog readers usually don't like hardcore selling. Being consistent in what you do while helping them with solid solutions will go far with any market. Your credibility and reputation will begin forming before people make a final decision that you are worth trusting.

Never underestimate the power of small actions when it comes to building trust on your blog. If the information you offer on your blog is always first class and valuable, then that will speak volumes about you. This is exactly why you should focus on making the most out of everything that you do on your blog and off it.Building trust in people is a process that requires time, but you have every reason to feel confident about being able to do it.

When you want to create trust in your visitors, then it is just a question of getting things right and behaving in a professional manner.

Learn What It Takes to Create a Conversion Friendly Site

By Arnold Rose

If you want your website to give you real-time results than you should learn the importance of making it conversion-friendly. In other words, if your site isn't converting your prospects/visitors into customers then it's not doing a good job. If you want to make your website convert better then you need to keep reading this article.

Have Several Calls to Action: Don't just rely on having a call to action at the end of your offer, though that's one of the places it should be. It can't hurt to repeat the call to action in several areas, and in many cases it will help; some people will click on a buy button before reading all of the copy, for example. The call to action should also be very clear and specific, as you should never assume that something is self evident to the reader. The more clear and numerous your calls to action are on your site, the better your conversions will tend to be.

The Top of the Page is Crucial: You should put the most compelling part of your message where people will look first -at the top. If you want visitors to look at the whole page, you first have to grab their attention at the top with something impressive. Many visitors will focus on the top of the page, and from there, decide whether or not to remain on the site. So when someone lands on your site, he/she should immediately be hit with a clear and concise summary of your product/service's unique selling point to arouse their interest and curiosity. You may be able to significantly improve conversions on your site by applying this one principle.

The use of an internal linking structure will help your visitors go from one page to another and browse around. A good search engine on your website is essential as well so that everyone can find what they want without any problems. You will find that your conversion ration increases automatically once you have navigation that is simple to use.

These guidelines are some of the most effective ways to boost your site's conversion rate, so you should take a look at your site and see where improvements could be made.

Writing An Ebook and Bringing It Before The Public

By Owen Jones

We every one have abilities, whether they be work-related skills like construction or welding; or managerial skills like working in or running an office; or sales or public relations skills like working in a shop or the front desk of an office. There are also other abilities or experiences like parenting or having studied how to cope with a significant illness, whether it be your own or someone else's.

Everybody has experiences that are either shared or unique. Like growing up - if you look, you will be able to find both general common experiences and also (quite) unique individual life experiences. The trick is unravelling all of these experiences and working out what individuals would be interested in reading (or paying to read).

So, if you would like to publish a book or, to a lesser level, an article, you have to endeavour to determine what interests people. There are at least two ideas at this stage. You could:

1] just write on what you are interested in and hope for the best or

2] do some investigation to find out which is the topic that you know most about that will have the best chance of selling to a (fairly) wide public

It appears that most people who compose short pieces adopt the first approach, but successful writers of larger works tend to adopt the latter. This is of course because of the amount of time that it takes to write a book likened with an article.

Nevertheless, many people in both the book and short story markets are probably doomed to failure because they have chosen the wrong approach. For instance, spend weeks researching a book that may take you a year to write, but why spend the same amount of time researching an piece that will just take you an hour to write?

You can go too far and not far enough in your research and if common sense does not counsel you, then you will have to wait for experience to tell you instead.

When you have chosen your topic and written your ebook (or had it ghost written for you - do not forget that option), you have to think of marketing it - bringing it to the public. This used to be the hardest part, but now you can sell it through quite a number of online bookstores including Amazon.

These firms will promote your book, deliver it to your customers, collect the money and pay you out after they have taken their percentage of around 30%. There has never been a less risky or / and easier manner for a writer to get going than now and if you would like to sell hard copies like paperbacks or hardbacks, Amazon, through their associates, can take charge of that too.

This is a wonderful time for non-established writers. When you have done your research and written your book, it costs nothing to get it out there on immediate download in front of billions of potential customers!

Becoming a Known Expert In Your Industry

By Alexander Williams

The difference is like night and day between the regular, typical online marketer and "the" niche expert. That's right; when it comes down to marketing products online and actually making the sales, your brand image does matter to a great extent. Probably every single niche and broad market contain industry experts toward whom people gravitate. Being trusted in all ways is part of the territory because people tend to believe that an expert has a reputation to uphold and will not tarnish that image. We have several expert guidelines for you that will enable you to do more about this in your own business life.

How your audience perceives you is extremely important, and so you need to work on creating positive impressions. An effective method to do this, that has been proven time and again, is conducting seminars and workshops that people can benefit from. You will have to choose something that you know will be of value to the attendees, and that is the basis for going forward. Remember your greatest goal here is to work to establish your name, and you can give them your URL during the event. The last thing you want is give the impression you are not organized, so put everything on paper for this and create a specific plan of action.

Who would have ever thought the internet would exist and become so central to normal life for most of the planet. Years ago, it was nearly impossible for the average person to write something like a book and get it published - not anymore. There is something about being a published author that really influences how people look at you in terms of being an expert. With your book you can get almost instant credibility, reputation, acknowledgment and so much more.

Since you want to be viewed as an expert, then it is a great idea to create your own blog which is in addition to your niche site. The strategy with the blog is to further build upon other efforts that essentially serve to develop your reputation. This is something you can quickly get started in half an afternoon, and you may even get lucky and find your name is available as the domain name. It will take some time before your blog starts to gain prominence within your field, but slowly your target audience will start seeing you as an expert in your field. You will be working on your reputation as an expert, but another valid way to view this is you are branding your self in your niche market.

Remember, once you start gaining the trust of your target audience, you'll see your image become much more stronger in their eyes.

Taking Consistent Action So Your Audience Believes You Are An Expert

By Sarah James

We all know the best business comes when the people in your niche feel confident in what you are offering because for one they consider you an expert. Here are a few ways for you to establish your expertise within your niche.

A huge part of your long-term goal is to influence your market with your content, and think about something like offering teleclasses because they are different. You can conduct these on any topic you desire, and they are effective if you offer information that is solid and not found for free all over the web. The classes can be presented to the participants in one session or over a series of such sessions. This method is terrific for helping to build your reputation as an expert because you will be teaching and interacting with people. Teleclasses can be an excellent way to show off what you know in your niche, and the quality of your answers to posed questions can get the attention of your audience. Think about adding value in the form of a little text or outline with some content, and then simply email that to people ahead of time.

As each day passes by, the Internet becomes more and more influential in our lives. One benefit that it has brought in is that it has made it easier for writers to connect with publishers, which means writing and getting your book published is actually possible, and easier than before. Think very hard about writing a book, publishing it at Amazon - for example, and then use that as something to help your expert reputation building. With your book you can get almost instant credibility, reputation, acknowledgment and so much more.

Since you want to be viewed as an expert, then it is a great idea to create your own blog which is in addition to your niche site. As should be clear, the purpose of the blog is to speak to your audience directly and give them perhaps additional information that will help them. Doing this with an additional blog is very easy, and there are so many blog solutions available. Along with your blog, you can use social media sites and business networking sites to help get your name out there. You are also a brand with your audience, and you will be branding your name as an authority and expert.

All markets and niches have multiple experts, but that does not matter as long as you are considered one of them.

Landing Testimonials - Out-of-the-Box Methods

By Tanja Cruz

You can accomplish a lot with excellent social proof in the form of testimonials, but what is most important to people is they increase sales and profits. There are two important things to think about, what can you do to encourage people to offer a testimonial plus presenting them in the best way. Those areas are the topic of today's discussion, and we hope you find it useful.

It's really easy to fabricate testimonials these days, and you do see this happening on a regular basis. But actually that will never change because it has not in thousands of years - so... just take care of your own house and move on. On another note, people on the web have only become more savvy and mistrustful with online marketing. In order to increase the credibility of your testimonials, you have to present them in the best light. Always ask the person giving the testimonial if you use a picture of them in addition to their city/state and/or country. Nothing looks worse than no photo, and then there are only initials or the first name and that is it. There is a lot of dishonesty around in the marketing world, which is why you should try to take care that you don't look shady in any way.

Keep in mind that if you talk about the negative aspects of your competitors, it won't have much impact on your prospects, or worse, it may even backfire and put you in bad light in front of them. There is a difference when a legal line has been crossed as it pertains to the words of others, but otherwise try to learn from any thoughts or feelings written about your business by others. So perhaps a customer may make a comment that does compare your product to another from someone else, and that is fine because they are the ones writing it.

If you have never received any testimonials, then just be prepared for rejection because a large percentage will show not inclination, and actually most will probably ignore your communications about the matter. Everybody has a story to tell - everybody, and that may offer you some relief with this apparent dilemma. It is impossible to know what people will do until you give them a chance. Be specific and ask how they've been using your service and how it has exactly helped them. Try to avoid coming off like you are telling them what to write, though. Do not try to be sneaky about this because there is no getting around your legal obligation to get their consent to use it.

Be sure to take action on anything that is appropriate for you at your current stage of progress, and never give up with working on getting more testimonials.

Avoiding The Frustration of Too Few Testimonials

By Markus Brown

You need to get to a point where you have social proof as testimonials for your offers because that lets people know they are not the first to go out on a limb. Of course it is common knowledge that any good sales letter will have testimonials, but we know it can be tough if you are brand new and have not made any sales, yet. The thing you need to do is take action with this, and we can supply the "what to do" part in a few moments.

If your customers are aware of Internet marketing and online promotion then they would know the value of an inbound link. It is a simple courtesy if a customer wants to give you a testimonial, and they have a site, to let them go ahead and advertise their site with a link in their signature. You will not be hurt from offering to include the link because that will help your sales letter appear more trustworthy. But always do a sanity check with these things just in case there is content on that person's site that you do not want to expose to your readers.

If you have never surveyed your market or customers, then that is something you have to reconsider. The questions you need answers for will depend on what you believe will be most useful to you. The best survey as very specific questions that are concisely written. Some people will not be interested in anything because they simply do not want to be bothered. What you are hoping for is your customers will feel positive about the survey. Do ensure that the questions that you ask in the survey specifically bring out the better qualities of your product/service so that you can use the feedback for testimonials.

You can catch peoples' attention by strategically placing testimonials or excerpts from them here and there. Considering Google's latest push for high content sites, then most likely you have more than just a single sales page because they are hard to promote as stand-alone sites; so make the most effective use of all of your testimonials and keep making the push to get more.

You will discover that once you have a good collection of terrific testimonials, your conversions will improve.

Best Books On Real Estate

By Len Dietrich

Best three books on real estate are some of the most common ones but for unrelated, various reasons. Most books on real estate only give anecdotal information and, with the laws varying from state to state, can be difficult to apply to your career.

What I decided to do was to grab a few of these books, both hard cover and also on audio book. I picked up one from Gary Keller (of Keller Williams) Donald Trump & Dean Graziosi. I enjoyed them all but for different reasons.

First off, Gary Keller offers the most practical approach to any real estate agent getting started. He's one of the most popular real estate agents on the planet and has, in my opinion, one of the most successful brokerages in the US. All the information he provided in his book was applicable to me when I was getting started. His book is really for someone that maybe is a part of a small mom and pop office where there isn't much training. After one get's their RE license then few offices offer ongoing training. For the most part, you will have to go to your local board or MLS to obtain any relevant on going training. However, Gary's books are good and, like I said, give you valuable insight for getting started. I recommend his "The Millionare Real Estate Agent: It's not about the money...it's about being the best you can be!"

My next two favorites are Donald Trump and Dean Graziosi. Now, these are two polarzing individuals. Either you love them or you hate them. I happen to like them both.

For The Donald, I recommend "Trump Strategies For Real Estate". Now, if you are in a small market you won't find any real applicable strategies as most of the insight is from DT's experiences in NYC. The one thing that does irritate me about his books is that, from what I can tell, he doesn't put pen to paper and write the book. He co-writes with another author that he trusts. Now, nothing wrong with that but I want to hear the author talking to me. There was some valuable information in the book that I read and the insight gained from made me think in ways I had never thought of before. The way he structured and negotiated some of those deals is mind boggling. A very interesting read for sure.

Now, Dean is an interesting cat. If you look him up on line that guy is selling everything from cars to real estate. I like that he has a history selling informational products. One interesting thing I learned from him was that he shared with me how to buy tax liens. A very interesting concept and one that is easy to implement. Well worth reading.

All in all, none of these books gave a step by step process to getting started as a real estate agent and, honestly, I don't believe any book on the market will give you those tips and tricks encompassed in one book. However, I have found that they are practical in the advice offered. If I had to pick the best of the three I would recommened Gary's books as a first read. You really can't go wrong. Especially for the agent that is looking to brush up on some fresh concepts or the new agent looking to get started. The Donald and Dean are good for the real estate investor looking for additional strategies. I enjoyed those for different reasons that I applied to my real estate investing career.

The Guide To Selling In Your Article Without Selling

By Greg Tilley

Do you how you can share your enthusiasm for your products and services without sounding like you're making a pitch. Is there a way that you can sell your products or services without really 'selling' them?

A reader will likely click away from your article as soon as they sense they they're being sold because no one likes a sales pitch. Yet quite often, in order to motivate your reader to visit your website, you need to give them a bit of a pitch.

If you provide your readers with a benefit, this is also a great way to motivate your readers. Tips and how to articles are very popular and one of the reasons for this is because they offer the reader an immediate benefit. Readers are going to be hungry for more information and would be looking be more when the content of your article follows through on your promise. They will trust that you will provide more benefits on your website because you have kept your end of the bargain in your article.

Try tapping into your readers' desires. What we all desire is to become more attractive, smarter, wealthier, happier, more respected, etc. When you tap into these desires in your article, you immediately have your reader's attention. Will the content of your article be able to help them solve their problems and attain their desires? By tapping into the desires of your readers and offering them a way to attain these desires, not only will you be a virtual hero but your readers will want to learn more from you and be excited to visit your website.

Don't give your reader the whole story. Try to write an article about 3 ways to do something then tell your readers this isn't the whole story in the last sentence of your article. If they want to know more about your article's topic, then tell them they can visit your website and learn the whole story from there. Take note that you may not be allowed to plug your website in the body of your article if you are publishing it in an article submission site. You can plug it in your author's resource box if this is the case. However, if you're publishing the article in an e-zine or on another website, this is a great way to draw traffic to your site.

When you sell in your article copy, it is considered as easy as solving people's problems by offering valuable content. Write copying is also easy because of this approach.

Tips For Outsourcing Ebooks

By Owen Jones

Ebooks are starting to come of age. It is now becoming a more viable option to sell your knowledge or niche book on line than it is to sell it through a traditional publisher. There are on line publishers like Amazon that will upload your ebook, help you market it, deliver it to your customers, track sales, take the money and pay you the balance.

You can to set your own price for the book and you will receive about 70% of the total revenue. Dedicated ebook readers are making the ebook even more accessible. For example, say that you are travelling and you finish your book, you might find it a problem to buy another book to read for a time, particularly if you are abroad.

Not so with modern ebook readers. You only go online with their built-in WIFI capability and download a different one. Or you could download a dozen so that you do not run the risk of being without. Ebooks are cheaper than traditional paper books and more readily accessible. Lots of readers will also hold over 3,000 books.

So, this is a way to go for publishing a book, but what if you cannot write well enough? What if you have great concepts for books - fact or fiction - but you merely cannot write them down? There can be a number of causes for this. Maybe writing in not your specialty; perhaps English (the biggest market for books) is not your mother tongue; or perhaps you just do not have the time.

So why not outsource them? Many books purportedly written by well-known sports personalities were in fact outsourced or written by ghost writers. That is nothing new and no source of shame. It is just horses for courses.

This actually is a business in a box. Let us look at some scenarios. If you think that the current fad for stories on macabre topics will continue, why not think up a few scenarios and pay for five short stories that you can compile into one ebook? Or look on line, find out what individuals are having problems with and pay for ebooks to solve those issues.

You could have ten books for sale on Amazon within a month providing revenue for years.

So how do you go about it? Well, first of all, someone has to have the ideas and that has to be you or your family or friends. Then you have to outline those ideas for the writer to be able to follow. Then you have to state how long the author has to complete the project; how many words it should contain and what standard of English you expect.

Then Google ''ghost writers desired' or something comparable. There are numerous sites acting as go-betweens and lots of solo writers too. Give them the specifications and carefully decide on your author.

Make sure that all intellectual copyrights are signed over to you on payment and then go over to Amazon, open a publishers account and follow the directions. You can be publishing within 20 minutes and earning within a couple of days. It is really a business in a box.

An Ebook Writing Business

By Owen Jones

Writing is a skill and, like most skills, it can be learned or at least you can greatly improve the writing ability that you have (and everyone has some writing aptitude). You can most easily improve your writing skills by writing. You could supplement that practice by reading and you can go a step further by studying some grammar. There are also writers' classes or workshops you could attend.

But basically, the best thing to do is simply write and keep on writing and if you are not certain of something, look it up and fairly soon, you will find that you will spend less and less time looking things up. You could purchase reference books and dictionaries or you could just use free on line resources.

Never feel that you cannot write well enough to create something. If you are nervous about your ability, write in forums, add comments to blogs or write articles for places like Gather. Whatever you do, you should keep practicing and continue writing. You will find that it gets easier and that ideas start to flow more smoothly.

When you feel that you can write well enough, why not try to make some money out of it? You could write ebooks on your favourite topics or on problems that affect a large number of of individuals. You can discover what those issues are by visiting chat sites and forums or reading the 'Agony Aunt' columns in the magazines.

Let us assume that you have gone past the comments in forums period and you are writing pieces for Gather. Keep copies of those articles on your hard drive and arrange them in folders by topic.

Once you have a few hundred, you can look through them and strive to assemble a couple of topics into enough material for a book. You may have 80% of a book doing nothing on your hard disk and you can fill in the gaps and rewrite the old material a little.

In the meantime, add your name to the sites that are searching for writers. They may want to see an instance of your work before they qualify you, but that is no problem - it is nice to pass tests and educational if you fail them.

If you are given a issue to write on as an assignment, concentrate on getting your facts straight and do not copy from others (plagiarize). It is a writer's greatest sin. After writing your article, check it for grammar and spelling.

It is not worth saving a copy of this piece after you have been paid for it, because it will no longer be your property and you could get into trouble for saying that it is yours.

You sold the rights to it, just as good as if you sold your car. The best thing to do with your own copies of sold pieces is to erase them after being paid, then there is no enticement and no risk of mistakes.

Once you have written pieces for others, you could register to write ebooks as well. If you are being paid to do it, get all the relevant details before you start and stick to them. You will need to know: the title of the book; the minimum and maximum length of it in words; the delivery date and how much you will be paid. There may be other particulars as well such as: font type, font size and line spacing, but they can all be altered later.

Does a First-time Teen Author Actually Need a Publisher?

By Wayland Myers

The answer for new, first time authors especially is, "no". In today's writing world, the truth is that you need to take the power into your own hands and work on Self Publishing your book as an electronic book,,,,,,, whether that be an eBook Western or other class. Much more should be explained about how this is done than can be covered in this brief article, but in brief, here is a list of some of the roles you can take over and accomplish yourself that you used to rely a traditional Publisher to play:

The Gate Keeper - Want to discover if your book is good enough to sell to a larger audience? Then offer it for free online, through your internet site, site, site, site, site, site, site, to a limited number of readers and ask for their feedback.

The Editor - It is true that you should not edit your own work. However , there are plenty of independent editors that you can hire for a fair rate to help you edit your work. It is far less expensive in the longer term for you to pay for this service than it's going to be after giving a Publisher 90% possession of your work.

The Printer - Creating an e-book is simpler each day. There are free resources to create PDFs, MOBIs and all the formats you require for iPad, Nook and Kindle e-readers, and there are folk who will convert your book as a service.

The Distributor - You do not want to ship your book anywhere. Offering it as a download on your internet site, or directly from sites like Amazon.com or BarnesAndNoble.com works very well.

The Advertiser - If you have a web site, site, site, site, site, site, site, a writer Facebook page, and a mass email service, you have all of the tools you have to start marketing yourself. You need somewhere for people to go to read about you and download your book. Then you need to get out there in the forums and websites that readers of your category frequent and start talking about your book and pointing them back to your internet site.

If you believe it'll cost time and cash to self publish, you are correct. But you'll give away far less of your work than otherwise. And you'll get to understand your fans, learn things that improve your writing, and with a little bit of luck begin to build a community around your work that you can leverage next time you publish Western novels yourself.

What Are the Conventional Roles of a Book Publisher?

By Wayland Myers

Traditionally, the role of the book publisher was to do 5 things:

1) Be the gatekeeper - reviewing and separating the good from the bad books

2) Be the reviewer - checking writing, cleaning up style issues and working with the author to tighten up and improve their work so it had the best chance of success with the readers,

3) Be the printer - printing the book, designing the cover, and making the hard cover or paper back type of the book

4) Be the distributor - packing, shipping and placing your book to their countrywide network of book shop shelves

5) Be the marketing specialist - putting out press releases, making in-store displays, getting other writers to study your book and any quantity of other common techniques to push your book and give readers an opportunity to find it.

But all of this work came at a cost: They want often 90% ownership of your work, in all its assorted forms (e.g. Book, motion picture, TV show, world versions, etc...). Yes, you created it, but have to give away 90% possession so as to get it read.

Today, the real question is: What roles are you able to play yourself that a Publisher used to be needed to play?

The answer? Every one of them - particularly if you are a new author.

The reality is that Publishing deals for new authors of western novels today are getting worse and worse. The Publisher sees you as a risk with a tiny chance (something similar to 1/1000) of clearing for them. their reply to mitigate this risk is to relegate you to a streamlined process they have developed for new authors - one that includes only the basics in marketing, and not quite enough to get you spotted by the mass reading public. They reserve their enormous efforts and money for the established writers.

But marketing is the key. You may have the greatest novel ever, well edited and superbly written, but without the ability to effectively get the word out no one will ever read it (well, your pals and family will).
