Avoiding The Frustration of Too Few Testimonials

You need to get to a point where you have social proof as testimonials for your offers because that lets people know they are not the first to go out on a limb. Of course it is common knowledge that any good sales letter will have testimonials, but we know it can be tough if you are brand new and have not made any sales, yet. The thing you need to do is take action with this, and we can supply the "what to do" part in a few moments.

If your customers are aware of Internet marketing and online promotion then they would know the value of an inbound link. It is a simple courtesy if a customer wants to give you a testimonial, and they have a site, to let them go ahead and advertise their site with a link in their signature.You will not be hurt from offering to include the link because that will help your sales letter appear more trustworthy. But always do a sanity check with these things just in case there is content on that person's site that you do not want to expose to your readers.

If you have never surveyed your market or customers, then that is something you have to reconsider. The questions you need answers for will depend on what you believe will be most useful to you. The best survey as very specific questions that are concisely written. Some people will not be interested in anything because they simply do not want to be bothered. What you are hoping for is your customers will feel positive about the survey. Do ensure that the questions that you ask in the survey specifically bring out the better qualities of your product/service so that you can use the feedback for testimonials.

You can catch peoples' attention by strategically placing testimonials or excerpts from them here and there. Considering Google's latest push for high content sites, then most likely you have more than just a single sales page because they are hard to promote as stand-alone sites; so make the most effective use of all of your testimonials and keep making the push to get more.

You will discover that once you have a good collection of terrific testimonials, your conversions will improve.
