Answering Where Did Chess Originate From

Getting an answer to the question where did chess originate from has been the endeavor of many. There has been many answer from different quotas depending on many grounds most of which are based on history. There have been inquiries as to whether one man or nation is responsible or it is a contribution of many hands.

India has found favor as the home place of the game before spreading to other nations on the back of natural forces. This could have been in the sixth century and the empire under whose command it developed was Gupta. It gave birth to such characters as pawn and knight as well as bishop and hook.

It later headed to Persia and became a part of the palace games. The name king was adapted here by the players and new ruled developed. It also gave rise to checkmate which represented a situation where the king could do nothing to get himself out of trouble.

The Muslim conquest swept the game to other nations with slight modifications on the Persian model. This saw the game land in to the northern part of Africa as well as Europe with adaptations at every level. What is now considered as chess can largely be traced to the fifteenth or even the sixteenth century.

It is now formalized as a game being played all over the world and carries a history of having been played on lines in place of the conventional boxes we know now. Most of the history is contained in literature and linguistic tracing. It has been challenging to pinpoint the exact source of the game.

Finding an answer to where did chess originate from is a subject of theories and historical analysis. It has not gotten mush help from archeology since the artifacts collected are not necessarily related. India therefore remains as the most certain candidate to take the honors of gifting the world the beautiful game.
