By Mayra Roman

At first look, we may think that Pat Lawrence is a name of a real author, indeed. But we should know that this is actually a pseudonym for the team up of Pat Adsit and Daniel Lawrence Burke, a couple writing duo from Wisconsin who started creating masterpieces since 2007.

Writing suspense filled thrillers has always been something that the couple enjoyed doing. In fact, the first job they got as authors was for the entertainment enterprise, Murder By Design. They began writing murder mysteries for the enterprise in 2007.

After this project, they progressed into writing a comedy stage play with two acts entitled, Squirrels In The Attic. The play had been staged in various parts of Illinois and Wisconsin, and became the preceding masterpiece they made before Jarred Into Being.

Jarred Into Being is a novel released by Outskirts Press in August 2011. The theme of the book is darker as it deals with some political and social issues in our society. The couple had always wanted to write this kind of novel, something that would leave the readers really impressed up to the end.

The novel revolves on the experiences of the female protagonist called Eva Lange who became a victim of sexual slavery and prostitution. It is a suspense filled story that had kept readers moving on to the next page of the paperback, while at the same time feeling the angst of the main character.

Pat and Daniel had been very skilled in crafting and weaving all the events that they are highly regarded by those who have read their novel. Incorporating issues such as forced prostitution, human trafficking, Mexican drug cartels, and corruption in the U. S. Legal system and local government; the author opened the minds of many about the world.

Pat Lawrence, after the success of their first novel, is saying that their second novel is underway. With the attention they are getting from the public right now, it would not come out surprising to see their novels in big bookstores in the future.
